Mrs. Ruth Irvine, age 73 years passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at St. Joseph's Hospice.

Ruth was born December 20, 1936 in Dauphin, Manitoba to Roy and Annie Wells. She lived there until moving to Fort William in 1955. Ruth always had a special place in her heart for her hometown, to which she returned each summer to reconnect with family and friends. After raising her family in Thunder Bay, Ruth relocated to British Columbia and married Ross Irvine, and after his passing, she eventually returned to Thunder Bay to be closer to her family.

Ruth is survived by her children Pamela Dorval (Don Goodfellow), Leona Dorval, Rhonda McLeod (Don), Ramona Heilman and Ray Dorval (Donna); 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Also survived by brothers Bill Wells (Loretta) and Wayne Wells (Marilyn) and sister Josephine Dutchession (Lorne).

Predeceased by her husband Ross; parents and sister Patricia Dooley.

Funeral Services for the late Mrs. Ruth Irvine will be held at 10:30AM on Friday, April 23, 2010 in the Avila Chapel at Lakehead University (off Reaume Street behind the Thunder Bay Police Station). Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to service time. Donations in memory of Ruth may be made to the Northern Cancer Fund.
