Obituary

EVELYN BARRATT

Mrs. Evelyn Barratt, age 85 years, passed away peacefully in Hogarth Riverview Manor on Friday, February 5, 2021.

Evelyn was born in Fort William on October 20, 1935 and resided in the city all of her life. She first started working at Bell Canada as an operator, then in customer service and finally, in the engineering department from 1954 until retirement in 1984. In 1956, Evelyn married Ross Barratt. They would spend their weekends at the trailer, enjoying the outdoors and especially fishing. After retirement, Ross and Evelyn would spend six months of the year at their winter home in Florida, where they had many joyful years cruising and loving their Florida life.

Evelyn is survived by her brothers Richard (Linda) Schutte and Gary Schutte as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was predeceased by her husband Ross Barratt; mother Alice Schutte and father Richard Schutte; and sisters Velma Abdul and Pearl MacGowan.

The family would like to thank the staff at Hogarth Riverview Manor for their patience and consideration during this difficult time.

Cremation has taken place and no service will be held at this time. Should friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations made in memory of Evelyn to the Alzheimer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 332 North May Street, Thunder Bay.
