Obituary for Mr. Robert "Bob" William Corbett

Mr. Robert "Bob" William Corbett
ROBERT CORBETT

Mr. Robert (Bob) William Corbett, age 86 years, passed away peacefully in Hogarth Riverview Manor on Sunday, April 23, 2017 with his family by his side.

Bob was born in Fort William on April 27, 1930 to Clarence and Kathleen Corbett. He was educated locally and was a lifelong resident of Thunder Bay. Bob worked at R.S. Piper Hardware Store and CanCar before going to Lakehead Terminal Elevator Association, as a Scale Mechanic, until retirement in 1992. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially the family camp at Sandstone Lake, canoeing, cross-country skiing and cycling. Bob loved to sing and play his harmonica, as well as the guitar. He was always dancing around the room with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren to music. Family was a true passion of Bob's. He also really loved dancing with his wife, and the couple impressed all those in attendance, clearing the floor with their grace and elegance. Bob will be truly missed by all of his family and friends.

Bob will be lovingly remembered by his children: Debby (Ken) Inglis of Regina, Saskatchewan, Rod (Susan), Doug (Angie), Phil of Edmonton, Alberta and Dennis (Lorraine) of Aldergrove, British Columbia; 19 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: Helen Heath, Joe (Heather) Corbett of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Jim (Mary) of Canning, Nova Scotia and Dorothy (Ken) Inaba as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Patricia Anne; his parents and sister Shirley McKinnon as well as his great-grandson Christian Ryan Parisee-McDevitt.

Funeral Services for the late Mr. Robert Corbett will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 10:00am in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James. Interment will follow in Mountainview Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to service time.

Should friends so desire, donations made in memory of Robert to the Alzheimer Society would be greatly appreciated.
