It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Gail Diane Pushkar, peacefully on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 in her home at Royal City Manor in New Westminster, BC at the age of 79 years.

Gail was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on March 27, 1937 to Manitoba born parents Madeline Blackmon and John Kenneth Roberts. She married Walter Pushkar and together they started their family. Gail worked for many years as a cook in many different restaurants in the Nipigon and Red Rock area, retiring after 20 years as a grocery store employee at Saunders Foodland in Red Rock. She enjoyed people and family and was a genuine caring, loving woman, wife and mother. Family was most important to Gail and she will be deeply missed by all of those who knew her.

Gail is survived by her daughters Candice (Lawrence) Mazzocca and Diane (Bruce) Hogue and her daughter-in-law Karen Pushkar; grandchildren Eric and Tracy Mazzocca, Brayden and Joshua Hogue and Samantha, Bridget and Derek Pushkar as well as several great-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was predeceased by her husband Walter; her son, Jack and grandson John; son Theodore (in infancy); her parents, sister Doreen and brother Jack as well as her brother-in-law Ted.

Funeral Services for the late Mrs. Gail Diane Pushkar will be held on Monday, May 8, 2017 at 11:00am in the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley Street at Algoma. Interment will take place at 3 pm the same day in Nipigon. Should friends so desire, donations made in memory of Gail to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated.
