Obituary for Mrs. Nancy Iris Alma Rahal

July 23, 1945 – May 15, 2023

Mrs. Nancy Iris Alma Rahal (nee Davies), age 77 years, passed away peacefully in St. Joseph's Hospital on Monday, May 15, 2023.

Nancy was born on July 23, 1945 in Fort William to Edward and Iris (Lewis) Davies. She was educated locally and went on to have a long career with TD Bank, Westfort and Brentwood Branches, until retirement in 2010. She met Joseph Rahal and they were married on January 8, 1966, spending 45 years together until his passing in 2011. Joe and Nancy enjoyed many summers camping at Sleeping Giant. Nancy loved baking for her family, going to the pool, and spending time with her family and lifelong friends. After her retirement, Nancy enjoyed travelling and playing cards.

Nancy was a much loved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Nancy is survived by her children: Teresa (Andrew) Bentley of England, Karen (Dave) Kramers of Seaforth, Ontario, MaryLou Herring of Oakland, Florida and Joe (Julie) Rahal of Montreal, Quebec. Grandchildren: Emily (David), Meghan Bentley; Sam, Caleb, Simon Kramers; Natalie, Erin Herring; Zack and Lola Rahal. Great grandson Alexander. Siblings Rhonda (Al) Chernosky; Robert (Mindella) Davies; Lyn (Kelly) Davies, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph; her parents Edward and Iris Davies, in-laws Karl and Marguerite Rahal, son-in-law Bennett Herring (2023) and niece Lindsay Siple (2022).

Nancy’s children would like to thank their Aunt Rhonda for always being there for their mom. Thanks also to the other family members, friends, doctors, nurses, PSW’s and staff at McKellar Place who helped care for her.

A private Graveside Service will be held at a later date at Mountainview Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James .
