Obituary for Mr Emilio "Jimmy" Caputo

Mr. Emilio “Jimmy” Caputo, age 83 years, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side on Sunday, December 4, 2022.

Emilio was born January 2, 1939 in Grimaldi, Cosenza, Italy to Ermina and Francesco Caputo. He came to Canada in 1956, settling in Port Arthur. He married Maria (née Pucci) and together they raised their two children. His family was the most important to him, and his grandchildren were the light of his life. He was a skilled Carpenter and very hardworking man.

Survived by his loving wife, Maria; beloved children Frank (Crystal) Caputo and Jennifer (Jason) Kartanson; cherished grandchildren, Raven Caputo and Macie and Weston Kartanson. Also surviving are his sisters, Ida (Joe) Chiarelli of Toronto, and Maria Cobran of Kitchener; sister in-law Christina Caputo of Toronto and brother in-law Joe (Franca) Pucci as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Predeceased by his parents, Francesco and Ermina Caputo; brother, Tony Caputo; brother in-law Ivan Cobran and parents in-law Ermina and Giovanni Pucci.

Funeral services for the late Mr. Emilio Caputo will be held on Friday, December 9, 2022 with family and friends gathering in St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church for the Funeral Mass at 12 Noon celebrated by Fr. Luigi Filippini. Private Entombment will take place in Our Lady of Charity Mausoleum, St. Andrew's Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time in the church.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley Street at Algoma.
