Obituary for Mr. Peter Jones

Mr. Peter Gerald Jones, age 78 years passed away peacefully in hospital with his loving wife by his side on Sunday, September 25, 2022.
Peter was born in Port Arthur on August 13, 1944. He was raised in Red Rock, returning to Port Arthur and attended Hammarskjold High School. He was employed as a digester operator, retiring from Bowater after 38 years of dedicated service. Peter and Bonnie met through a mutual friend and they were married November 25, 1987. Together they shared a love for fishing. They spent many weekends at Arrow Lake, being in the boat early mornings until late, always with the dogs in tow.
Survived by his wife, Bonnie; children Valarie Jones of Vernon, BC and Michael (Sheryl) of Abbotsford, BC; step-children Shelley (Brent) Byers and Scott (Sylvie) Wardle; grandchildren, Cody, Kathleen, Austin, Connor, Mikayla, Emma, Evan and Melody and five great grandchildren; siblings Mike (Derryl) and Susan (Harold) Rowan; sisters in-law Sue Jones and Lenore Milani and brother in-law Robert (Gayle) Atkinson.
Predeceased by his parents, Gerald and Phyllis Jones; grandson, Jessie Henderson; brother Ed Jones; brother in-law Michael Milani and sister in-law Sharon Atkinson.
Funeral services for the late Mr. Peter Jones will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022 with family and friends gathering in St. Andrew's Roman Catholic Church for the Funeral Mass at 10:00am celebrated by Fr. Berchmans Francis.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley Street at Algoma.
