Obituary for Mr. Kevin Christopher Lambert

Kevin Christopher Lambert
March 5, 1961 - July 10, 2022

It is with great sadness the family announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Kevin Lambert. Kevin passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2022 from a heart attack. Kevin was born in Fort William, Ontario on March 5, 1961. He was the fourth out of five children of Helen and Errol (Bud) Lambert.

Kevin graduated from Fort William Collegiate in 1980. Later in life he decided to go back to school, choosing the Accounting Program at Confederation College. In 1995 he graduated and was on the Dean’s List. Kevin had various jobs throughout his life. For the last 14 years he was employed at Gardewine North

Kevin had many hobbies: boating, fishing, quadding, gardening, snowmobiling, wood working and drawing to name a few. In his younger years he enjoyed playing baseball and golfing. Camping was always a big part of Kevin’s life. The family camp at Northern Lights Lake was his favourite place to be. He loved spending time with family and friends at camp. Nothing brought him more joy than sitting around the bonfire with a cold one.

For the past 40 years the “brothers” had their annual May Long Weekend Trip and February Snowmobiling Trip. A good time was always had by all. The May Long Weekend tradition started with their Father taking his boys to camp for fishing and fun. We will try to carry on these traditions but it will not be the same without Kev.

Kevin loved all sports but football was his favourite! Anyone who knew Kevin knew he was always cheering for the Green Bay Packers. His favourite basketball team was the Philadelphia 76’ers and his favourite hockey team was the Montreal Canadiens.

Music was an important part of Kevin's life. Kevin was introduced to Led Zeppelin by his older brother Rick at an early age. Back in the day you could find the brothers jamming in their home on Isabella Street using brooms as guitars and hair brushes as microphones belting out Zeppelin tunes. Later in life Kevin was able to see Led Zeppelin appear live in Minneapolis. Kevin enjoyed the Blues! He attended the Duluth and Thunder Bay Blues Festival several times. So many good memories.

Kevin never met a dog he did not like. Kevin had many dogs throughout his life, most recently he had his little Rosie girl. Rosie is missing Kevin but has a wonderful new home with Melissa Lambert (Kevin’s niece) and her family.

Kevin was a quiet man but a great friend to many. He will be missed by his lifelong friends Dave Drindak (Sandy) and Brian Kozlowski. Kevin will be remembered for his generous heart and sense of humour. Even though he was a man of few words his actions spoke volumes.

A piece of the chain has been broken. The five Lambert boys are not just brothers, they are friends! Left to forever love and remember him are his four brothers, James (Tammy), Rick, Alan (Karen) and Michael (Mary Ann). He is also survived by his step-son, Tyler Compardo and his family, his Granddaughter, Mackenna Compardo-Raparanta and her family. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Kevin had an extremely close relationship with his nieces and nephews, always enjoying the time he spent with them.

Kevin had a special bond with his Mother. In 2014 he moved in with his Mother to help take care of her so she would not have to go to the Senior’s home. With Kevin’s help his Mother was able to enjoy 5 more years living in her home.

Kevin was predeceased by his Father Errol (Bud) Lambert on March 11, 2014 and his Mother Helen Lambert on June 28, 2019.

A Celebration of Kevin’s Life will be held at the Davinci on Waterloo Street, Saturday, September 10, 2022 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Kevin will be laid to rest with his Mom and Dad at the family plot in Mountainview Cemetery.

If friends so desire donations can be made to the Thunder Bay Humane Society. Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 575 Central Avenue, Thunder Bay.
