Obituary for Mrs. Nora Lynn Wawia (Rask)

It is with great Sorrow and Sadness that the Wawia Family announce the passing of Nora Lynn Wawia (nee Rask) age 62 years of age of Nipigon, Ontario after a Courageous Battle with Cancer on Tuesday July 26, 2022 at the Nipigon District Memorial Hospital with her Loving Husband and Children by her side. Nora was born to Willis and Margaret Rask on December 3, 1959. Nora is survived by her Husband Milton of 43 years.Her Children Tiffany Wawia and Milton Wawia Jr. Her loving Grandchildren Myla and Draven Haskell, Matias and Addyson Wawia. Her Stepson Michael Potan (Gloria) Grandsons Mykel and Mason. Her Father Willis Rask, Sister Kathy Rask, Brother Todd Rask (Melissa). Her beloved Fur Baby Dutchess. Nora is also survived by Aunts and Uncles, In Laws and many Nieces and Nephews, to whom also called her nana. Nora and her family spent a lot of time together camping. She loved nature and taking care of the little critters that camped there too! Her grandchildren are her highest priority. She never missed a birthday party, school event or sporting event. the kids loved and appreciate that most about her. For many years Nana cooked family suppers every Wednesday. It was a day they all looked forward too. Those times together will truly be missed. Nora was known and loved by many. Those who knew her, it was never a dull moment when she was around. Nora was predeceased by her Mother Margaret Rask (nee Ruth), Her Parents- In- Law Agnes and Ben Wawia. Nora started working at the Nipigon Plywood Mill at a very Young and remained there until it’s closing. Cremation has taken place. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday August 2, 2022 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Annunciation, Nipigon Ontario with Father Henry Augustynowicz officiating. Interment will take place at a later date beside her Mother. In Lieu of Flowers. Donations may be made to the Thunder Bay Cancer Foundation, Tamarack House or Thunder Bay Humane Society.
Luncheon to follow at the Royal Canadian Legion in Nipigon.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 575 Central Avenue, Thunder Bay.
