Obituary for Mr. Raymond "Ray" Carlysle Cole

Raymond Cole
1932 - 2022

Mr. Raymond Carlysle Cole, age 89 years, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 4, 2022 in the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, with his family by his side.

Ray was born on July 23, 1932 in Fort William, Ontario to Henry and Ida (nee Jarrett) Cole. He attended local schools and worked with the Lakehead Board of Education, in Maintenance for over 40 years, until retirement in 1992. He met Alverne Geeson and they were married for almost 60 years, until her passing. In his younger years, Ray enjoyed bowling but his life truly revolved around his family and time spent together was his greatest passion.

Ray will be deeply missed by his children Kevin (Sharon), Keith and Crystal (Bill) MacLaurin; grandchildren Tara, Karlie, April, Billy, Curtis and Danice and two special great-grandsons, Nathaniel and Jasper. He is also survived by his two sisters, Bonnie Caruso and Barbara Mack as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Alverne and daughter Kelly; parents, Henry and Ida Cole; several siblings as well as aunts, uncles and other relatives.

As per Ray's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date in Mountainview Cemetery. Should friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations made in memory of Ray to the Thunder Bay and District Humane Society would be greatly appreciated.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Westfort Chapel, 420 West Gore Street at James.
