Obituary for Mr. Heikki Eskelinen
HEIKKI ESKELINEN
January 19, 1929 - May 31, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved uncle, Heikki Eskelinen. He passed away peacefully at Roseview Manor in his ninety fourth year.
He was born in Sonkajarvi, Finland and came to Canada in 1952 as a young man with his sister Helvi and her family. He worked as a bush worker in his early years and then became a successful house builder and businessman in Thunder Bay. His passion was the great outdoors-hunting and fishing.
Heikki will be greatly missed by numerous nieces and nephews in Finland and Canada. He was predeceased by his three sisters Taimi, Helvi, Tyyne, his brother Olavi and his life partner, Anne.
A private family service will be held at Riverside Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley Street at Algoma.
