Obituary for Tuula Granholm

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tuula Granholm at the age of 55. She passed away in her sleep on April 22, 2022.

She was born September 11, 1966 in Thunder Bay and was a lifelong resident. Tuula’s pride and joy was her daughter Amanda. She was very proud of her daughter's accomplishments and loved her dearly.

Tuula had a variety of employment opportunities throughout her life. At a very young age she began her working career at the Hoito Restaurant and later transitioned into the head cook position. Tuula was a great cook! Her strong work ethic and cooking skills were noticed by her colleagues and customers. More recently she worked as a cook at Thunder Bay Aboriginal Headstart. Her love for children and cooking was fulfilled in this position.

Tuula enjoyed spending time gardening and fishing. Trips to Chipman Lake provided great fishing, company and many laughs. More recently, Tuula found joy spending time with her daughter's puppy Bailey. She has loved animals throughout her whole life and Bailey always knew how to put a smile across her face. On special occasions Tuula’s creative side shone through. She found joy in creating and decorating the house to celebrate and surprise Amanda.
