Obituary for Mr. Ronald Maurice DuBois

RONALD MAURICE DUBOIS
July 14, 1935- April 07, 2022

It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved husband, father,
grandfather and great grandfather at Thunder Bay Regional, April 07, 2022 following a long
struggle with I.P.F.

Ron grew up in Murillo. Worked 35 years for Northern Engineering, owned and operated a small
tourist resort and a heating store. In 1987 Ron and Rick established R&R Engine Rebuilding &
Machining, Ron retired in 1999.

Ron and I (Marjorie) were married in First Church United, Dec. 7, 1963, blessed with two daughters,
three grandsons and three great grandsons; Rhonda (Troy), Rachelle (Clyde), Brent (Alyssa),
Cody (Jessica), and Jude; Aidan, Ethan and Riley, Olivia and her family who have a very special
place in our hearts; and Christopher and his family.
Also survived by three sisters, two brothers, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins,
brother-in-law, sister-in-law and their families.
He was predeceased by parents Aimes (1959) and Alice (1979), brother Gerald (2004),
2 brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law.

Ron's patience and calmness were legendary. We were the focus of everything he did and his
happiness was evident in his accomplishments. He loved the outdoors; he spent hours building
a dune buggy with a rumble seat and boat rack so we could explore the rugged terrain from our
cottage on Umber Lake. He had a wanderlust for travel. When our girls were young we spent
a month each winter with them travelling the southern States and Mexico.

When Umber Lake became too far we moved to Shebandowan and then built on Kashabowie
Lake close to brother Gerry and his family where we spent many happy, memorable years.

After retirement we spent winters in Texas. More importantly we became full time grandparents,
graduating to great grandparents. There was no greater joy for us than time spent with the
children and viewing our world through their eyes. From these little boys we overheard this
statement-" Dads know lots but Grampas know everything".

Ron's life's journey is over but memories are forever and as he often said "We've had a very busy,
happy and for the most part healthy life, what more could we ask for!". He was so right but
he is going to be extremely missed!

We would like to express our thanks and appreciation to each of the following for your
professionalism and compassionate care Ron received.

-Dr. Jeremy Mozzon a very special thank you for your medical care and kindness throughout
Ron's illness.
-Thank you to Aparna Nagar N.P.-H.C.C.S.S.
-Paramed Home Health Nurses- Tyler, Alana, Ike and Steven
-Occupational Therapists-Angie and Katharine
-The Paliative Care Team at T.B.R.H.S.C
-Last but not least the wonderful care Ron received on 2B.

I must thank our daughters not just for their care of their Dad but Ron never missed a special
occasion or date and when he could no longer go you girls did his shopping. You chose
special cards, flowers and gifts, sent pictures to his iPad for his approval.....that was a
wonderful thing you did for him and he so appreciated it.

As per Ron's wishes arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre,
575 Central Avenue, Thunder Bay. A Celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

Those who so wish - Memorial Donations can be made to T.B.R.H.S.C. Cancer Research or the
charity of their choice.
