Obituary for Mrs. Angela Guidolin

It is with heavy hearts that the children and grandchildren of Mrs. Angela Guidolin, age 84 years, announce her peaceful passing on Monday, December 13, 2021, with family by her side. We are comforted in knowing that she has been reunited with the love of her life, Tarcisio, and that they will be spending their first Christmas together in 13 years.

Angela was born in Cartigliano, Vicenza, Italy on June 20, 1937. She spent her early life in Italy, coming to Canada in January 1960. Tarcisio and Angela were married on January 9, 1960, in Port Arthur and together they raised 3 children. Angela worked in the kitchen at Eaton’s. She was affectionately known as “mom” to many of her regular customers and she made many lasting friendships there. She was a dedicated employee until her retirement in 1991. She loved to sew and there is no shortage of proof through the countless photographs of her children wearing outfits that she created for them. Although she left the gardening to her husband, who had a passion and gift for it, she enjoyed preparing and sharing the fruits of his labour with those that she loved. She enjoyed sharing her breadmaking talents with her grandchildren, always ensuring that there was just enough dough remaining for a ‘bread man’. Although her family had always been her priority, this took on a whole new meaning with the addition of her grandchildren. They were her greatest passion and when they were with her, she had everything she wanted. They truly were her world. She took on the role of babysitting with enthusiasm and all the kids loved spending time with their Nonna.

Angela leaves behind children Luigi, Harry (Shelley), and Linda Kramer; and her cherished grandchildren Micheal, Colton, Mackena, Francesca, Dante and Anthony, each of whom made her so incredibly proud. She is also survived by her sisters, Bertilla and Ottavia (Italy) and their families. As well she is survived by extended family Gary Kramer, Giovanni and Anna Toffanin (and their family) and Luigi and Erminia Toffanin (and their family), close friends Bruno and Franca Piccinin (and their family) and her dear friend of 60 years, Anita Terlicher (Mario-predeceased, and their family). For Angela, there was little distinction between family and friends, they all meant so much to her. Her daily phone calls will be missed.

Angela was predeceased by her loving and devoted husband of 48 years, Tarcisio, whom she missed every day since his passing in 2008. Also predeceased by her parents Bortolo and Stella Tartaglia, siblings Maria, Iride, Nella, Guido, Pietro, Giuseppina, and Elvira as well as numerous in-laws and other relatives in Italy.

Funeral services for the late Mrs. Angela Guidolin will be held on Monday, December 20, 2021. Family and friends will gather in St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church for the Funeral Mass at 1:30 p.m. with visitation held one hour prior to the service time. Interment will follow in St. Andrew's R.C. Cemetery.
