Obituary for Ms. Hannah Belle Catherine Winters (Hamilton)

Hannah Winters
October 2, 1947 – July 13, 2021

Ms. Hannah Belle Catherine Winters (nee Hamilton), age 73 years, passed away peacefully at Hogarth Riverview Manor on Tuesday, July 13, 2021.

Mom was born in Port Arthur, Ontario on October 2, 1947 to David and Christina Hamilton. Mom had many fond childhood memories growing up in Port Arthur with family and friends. She started working full time at a young age and worked in many different areas, making friends and acquaintances along the way. Mom eventually moved to Ignace, Ontario, when her children were grown and fulfilled a life long dream of running her own little business. She ran GreenPines Campground for many years while also having other employment until her retirement. Mom then moved back home to Thunder Bay and enjoyed being near family and friends, but did miss the peace and solitude of her little “GreenPines.”

Hannah will be lovingly remembered by her 3 children; Tom (Joanne) Howald, Dean (Edith) Howald and Wendi (Marcel) Dufault. Her grandchildren Alissa, Emerson, Liam, McKenzie, Ashley, Christine, Andrew, Ashley and Taylor.  Her sister Helen (Darcy) Dufour, Sister-in-law Shirley Hamilton and her life-long dearest friend Anita (Milan) Tomasevic, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was predeceased by her parents David and Christina Hamilton, brother David Hamilton and niece Tara Hamilton.

Funeral Services for the late Hannah Winters will be held on Friday, July 30, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 W. Gore St. at James. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, where Hannah will be laid to rest with her parents. Sadly, due to COVID restrictions, attendance will be by invitation only.

Should friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Hannah to Adult and Teen Challenge of Thunder Bay.
