Mrs. Dorothy Mae Malinoski (nee Hunt), age 88 years, a lifelong resident of Conmee, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 30, 2021 in Hogarth Riverview Manor.

Dorothy was born on July 4, 1932 in Fort William, Ontario. She was educated locally and worked numerous jobs throughout her life, most notably at Confederation College in the Children Family Centre, until retirement in 1991. Dorothy married Elgin Malinoski on August 18, 1951. Together they proudly raised six children and were excited to welcome their grandchildren and great-grandchildren over the years. Dorothy was truly passionate about her family and her greatest love was spending time with all of them. She also enjoyed gardening and knitting. Dorothy was a lifelong member of St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church, where she served in various capacities and made many great friends along the way.

Dorothy will be sadly missed by her children Deborah Alderdice, Kenneth (Sherry), Timothy, Romain (Andrea) and daughter-in-law Jane; grandchildren Dani Dunne (Matt), Dustin, Tyler Alderdice (Crystal), TeeJay Alderdice (Jenna), Cody Hemsworth (Barb), Veronica, Meaghan Keeling (Michael), Kenneth, David, Zachary and many great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Marjorie (Stewart) McGarty of Calgary; sisters-in-law Shirley Hunt, Vienna (Julian) Mandziak and Ann Malinoski; brother-in-law Ed (Marie) Malinoski as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Elgin; two sons Warren and Daryl; her parents Howard and Gladys Hunt; brothers Gordon and Douglas Hunt; grandson John Malinoski and brother-in-law Lawrence Malinoski.

Due to COVID-19 gathering restrictions, a private family service for Dorothy will be held on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street. Interment will follow in Conmee Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday afternoon in the Chapel. Anyone wishing to attend is required to register for a time slot by calling the funeral home at 473-1121.

As directed by the Province of Ontario and the Bereavement Authority of Ontario, the attendance at each visitation is restricted to 10 people or less and a record of attendance must be maintained. Wearing of masks or face coverings by everyone and maintaining social distancing of 6 feet is mandatory for those attending.

Should friends so desire, donations made in memory of Dorothy to the Northern Cancer Fund (payable to TBRHSF) would be greatly appreciated.

When I come to the end of the road,
And the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom filled room
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little – but not too long,
And not with your head bowed low,
Remember the love that we once shared,
Miss me, but let me go.
For this is a journey we all must take,
And each must go alone,
It is all part of the Master's plan
A step on the road to home.
So when you are lonely and sick at heart
Go to the friends we know,
Bury your sorrow in doing good deeds,
Miss me – but let me go.
