Obituary for Mrs. Ernesta Sudnicki (Liceni)
The family of Ernesta Sudnicki would like to announce her peaceful passing in Southbridge Roseview on March 7, 2021.
Ernesta was born January 13, 1929 in Gorizia, Italy. Ernesta moved to Canada in 1949 and met her future husband, Edward, in Brandon, Manitoba, where they married. They later moved to Port Arthur (Thunder Bay) in 1951 and lived in Current River for many years.
Ernesta worked as a Nurses Aid in various hospitals, even after the children were born, for several years due to her love for her job.
Ernesta was an excellent cook and passed on her talents to her daughter Glorya. Many family dinners were enjoyed with her ravioli, gnocchi and veal, not to forget her amazing apple pie.
After Edward passed away Ernesta began volunteering at the Cancer Clinic. She enjoyed many years volunteering and meeting new people.
Ernesta loved her trips to Brampton to visit her daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren. She also cherished the time she was able to babysit her grandchildren in Thunder Bay while they were growing up.
Ernesta was predeceased by her husband Edward, son Richard, son-in-law Raymond, mother Antonia, father Antonio and her sister and brothers.
She is survived by her daughter Glorya Rutter, daughter-in-law Linda Sudnicki, grandsons Ryan Rutter (Jessica), Kyle Rutter (Kaitlyn), Jeffrey Sudnicki (Huong), Gregory Sudnicki (April) and great grandchildren Paige Rutter and Raymond Rutter.
The family would like to thank the staff of Southbridge Roseview for their care over the past several years.
A private service will be held at Ernesta's request. Arrangements have been entrusted to EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley Street at Algoma.
