Obituary for Mrs. Esther Nancy Pyykka (Bouchard)

ESTHER PYYKKA

Mrs. Esther Nancy Pyykka, age 77 years, passed away peacefully in Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on Monday, November 18, 2019.

Esther was born in Longlac on May 30, 1942. She married Arthur Pyykka and dedicated her life to taking care of her husband and children. Esther had a deep faith and was passionate about it. She enjoyed talking to her family and friends on the phone and spending time with them whenever she could. Esther was a strong, loving woman who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Esther is survived by her children Kelly (Nathan) King of Thunder Bay and John Pyykka of Thunder Bay as well as Derek (Lisa) Echum of Longlac; grandchildren Josephine, Jeremy, Josh and Jordan and great-grandchildren Emma and Hutson. Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Arthur; her parents and siblings.

Funeral Services for Esther will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 11:00am in Ginoogaming First Nation at the Training Centre (100 Balsam Road). Interment will follow in Longlac Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held after 6:30pm on Friday evening at the Training Centre. A Celebration of Life will take place in Thunder Bay at Faith City Church (360 Black Bay Road) on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at 11:00am.
