Obituary for Mr. Keith Lawrence McKay

1952-2019

Keith Lawrence McKay passed away unexpectedly at his residence on January 23, 2019.

He was born in Fort William, Ontario and raised in Savant Lake and later moved to Thunder Bay in the late 60`s.

Keith will be sadly missed by his beloved wife Marilyn of 38 years, whom he became a sole caregiver for the last 12 yrs., his daughter Michelle and granddaughter Mariah (Dustin), sisters Betty, Helen, Jo-Ann, Joyce and Lois, brothers Jack, Bryan, Bill and Rob, mother-in-law Esther, and numerous family members.

Predeceased by his son Rick, brother Tom (T.R.) and parents Irene and Jim.

Keith led a very active life playing and watching sports, he was very passionate about the Toronto Maple Leafs. Keith was a staunch Irish man and was known to his closest friends as “Blackie”. As a young man, he worked at the railway, Ziegels Flooring, Russell Foods and the latter part of his life he was self employed as Flooring installation, etc.Keith's motto was family helps family. Keith was loved by all and will be deeply missed especially his raspy voice.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Brain Injury Services of Northern Ontario. Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 332 North May Street, Thunder Bay.
