Obituary for Mrs. Theresa Marie Budge (LaBelle)

A wife, mother, a Mere too,
This is the legacy we have from you.
You taught us love and how to fight,
You gave us strength, you gave us might.
A stronger person would be hard to find,
And in your heart you were always kind.
For all of us you gave your best,
Now the time has come to get your rest.
So go in peace you’ve earned your sleep,
Your love in our hearts we’ll eternally keep.

Theresa was born in Gracefield, Quebec on June 1, 1933 and was received into the hands of her Lord on December 31, 2018.
A consummate wife, mother, Mere and friend, Theresa was an excellent cook, enjoyed preparing family meals and baking cookies for us to munch on. Over the years, she collected a large library of knitting and cook books. Throughout her life, she maintained a sweet and simple demeanour that won the trust and hearts of many.
Theresa had an unwavering faith in God that kept her strong and devoted. She turned to prayer and held her rosary daily throughout her illness. She was a member of St. Margaret Church and the Catholic Women’s League.
She was most proud of being a lifelong resident of Toledo Street – she was proud of her independence and her little home (with the big yard). She enjoyed sitting in her lounge chair on the patio and looking at the beauty of nature. She had her network of “neighbourhood families” - the Hergotts, Veal and Precomas - who looked out for her well-being.
Theresa was predeceased by Albert her husband of 46 years. She is survived by her daughter Brenda (Don), sons Renne and Lloyd, her cherished grandchildren (T’weehearts) Tessa and Tyler De Bruyne, grand fur baby, Sookie, and her good friend Rita De Bruyne.
The family would like to thank Dr. Allison for his dedication and devotion to her medical care over the many years and to all the medical professionals who cared for her during her last few months. To our family and friends near and far, we thank you for your emotional support these past six months - we could have not done this without you. Lastly, we thank our mother, Theresa for showing us how to persevere, to enjoy the simplicity of life, and to be strong as a family.
Funeral services will be held on Monday January 7, 2019 at 11:00am at St. Margaret Church. Visitation will take place at EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley Street at Algoma, on Sunday evening from 5:00 – 7:00pm with prayers being offered at 7pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society would be most appreciated.
“6 more kisses for you mother dear.”
