EDWARD EVANS

Mr. Edward Evans, at the age of 99, resident of Pioneer Ridge, passed away peacefully with family by his side on October 18. Born June 12, 1919 to parents Gwilym and Margaret Evans.

Predeceased by his wife Ada, in 2002, his parents and his brother Harry. Survived by sons, Edward (Lorri), Wayne (Lona) and Greig (Leah). Grandchildren Drew, Eryn (Mike), Tracey (Cory), Shannon (Brian) and Sherry (Ray). Great Grandchildren Lorri-Lyn, Andrew (Jessica), Tyler, Payton, Mila and Nolan. Great Great Grandchild Cali-Rose as well as nieces and nephews.

Formerly of 22 Pine St., Rosslyn, he was active in the community with the Volunteer Fire Department and the Rosslyn Community Centre as well as the Royal Canadian Legion, Kakabeka Falls. After working in the bush at a young age to help support his family after his fatherr's death at a young age, he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force, serving with aircraft recovery. After the war he met and married his wife of 56 years, Ada, on April 30, 1946 and went to work for Can-Car in Fort William, retiring in 1982.

Special thanks to Dr. Ross Johnson and the wonderful staff at Pioneer Ridge for their care and compassion.

Cremation has taken place and a private family service will take place at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 332 North May Street, Thunder Bay.

In lieu of flowers donations to The City of Thunder Bay Animal Services would be greatly appreciated.
