Condolence: Mary was a beautiful person. I have known her for many years dating way back to my Upsala days. Both of us were volunteer Welcome Neighbor reps in our small communities through the Rural Resource Centre when it was located along the highway outside of Thunder Bay. We use to have meetings and discuss ways of welcoming people to our neighbour-hoods. We gave out pamphlets and info on our communities and coupons and info on Thunder Bay.

She was also involved with programs related to children and starting up Co-operative Day Care Centres about 35 yrs. ago or more.
She was a very special lady and a real go getter. She had a giant heart and compassion for others. She will be missed. My heart goes out to you, her family whom I have never met. May she live on through all your precious memories.

Condolence: Sending thoughts and prayers to family and friends. Mary influenced so many things in my life. She spoke honestly and bluntly and I truly appreciate her opinion, for I knew she spoke from experience. Her humour, she loved to make people laugh. It was always a pleasure to be in her presence. I will miss her dearly until we see her again in heaven. Sending so much love from the Huisman/ Jakeway Family.

Condolence: Mrs. Germain was a FORCE. A wonderful, community-building force that will be deeply, deeply missed. I was one of the lucky kids at Slate River School that got to hold that rope with the rest of the kids for the walk to her farm. She had a hand in raising me, and I am so grateful. I still have the speech she delivered at my Grade 8 grad 30-ish years ago. What a woman. What a life lived. My most sincere condolences to her family.
