VINCENT ZIENCIK
October 18, 1920 - December 22, 2016
Mr. Vincent Ziencik, age 96 years, passed away peacefully in Pinewood Court on Thursday, December 22, 2016 with his family by his side.
Vincent was born in Poland on October 18, 1920. He immigrated to Canada after WWII and worked in the Bushcamps. He then began working for Northern Wood as a Crane Operator, until retirement in 1985. Vincent enjoyed tinkering around his home and farm, fixing things and gardening. He was a hardworking “jack of all trades” and always kept busy with little projects. Vincent also enjoyed music and dancing, especially the Polka and he loved his nights out at the Legion with friends. Above all else, Vincent's family was his main focus and he always looked forward to time spent with them. He will be deeply missed.
Vincent is survived by his daughter Marlene Bridgman and step-daughter Irene Maki; grandchildren Johnny, Carrie-Ann (Roy), Angel (Warren), Jay, Becky (Chad) and Darren as well as numerous great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. He is also survived by his good friend Dave “Dozy” Jonasson as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives in Poland.
He was predeceased by his wife Mary; step-son Stan Macys; son-in-law and best buddy Chuck Bridgman and son-in-law John Maki as well as many other relatives.
The family would like to thank the many doctors, nurses and staff at Pinewood Court for your dedicated care and compassion shown to Vincent throughout his time there.
Funeral Services for the late Mr. Vincent Ziencik will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2016 with family and friends gathering in St. Mary Our Lady Queen of Poland Roman Catholic Church for the Funeral Mass beginning at 1:00 pm, celebrated by Father Ireneusz Stadler. Interment will follow in St. Andrew's Catholic Cemetery.
Should friends so desire, donations made in memory of Vincent to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Everest Funeral Chapel, 299 Waverley Street at Algoma.
