Life Story for Miss Ella Isabella McClymont

In her 96th year, Ella McClymont passed away on January 20, 2019 at Hogarth Transitional after a short illness. Ella was born in Kirkcowan, Scotland on November 5, 1922. She moved to Fort William in 1925 with her family. Ella worked all her life in Westfort, with more than 30 years at J.B Evans. She was a member of Agate Rebekah Lodge for over 50 years and a life-long member of First Church United and later attended First Wesley United Church. She made many life-long friends through her work, church and community activities. Ella never married, she stayed home and helped her sister Gracie and brother Jock, who were crippled with polio at a young age. Predeceased by her parents James and Anna McClymont, her sisters Grace and Edythe Irving (Joe), brothers Jock, Jim and Sandy (Winnie). Also predeceased by many nieces and nephews. She is survived by her niece Sandra (Rick) Rissanen and many great nieces and nephews. As per Ella's request, no formal service will be held. A private interment will be held at Mountain View Cemetery. A celebration of life for family and friends will be held on Friday January 25th at West Thunder Community Centre from 2-4pm.
