It is with broken hearts the family announce the passing of their beloved mother, nana and great-nana, Maria (Emelia) Mesic (nee Vecchio), age 86 on November 16, 2018 at Pioneer Ridge. Maria was a courageous woman who fought all her battles with strength and determination and embraced  life's blessing with gratitude, unconditional love and support. There was nothing more important to Maria than her family but her heart and door were always open to anyone.  Maria made everyone feel welcome and a part of her family and always made sure to have an extra seat at  her table.  No one left Maria's home without a full heart and full stomach.
Left to mourn her departure are Maria's sons Frank (Lee), John (Helen) and precious grandchildren Nicole (Sulo), Joseph (Rachel) and Charis.  Maria also leaves behind three  great grandchildren, Nyla, Nicholas and Mason. Maria enjoyed her life and shared years of love with a large extended family that included two brothers Fiori and Everisto and three sisters Gilda, Lidia, Yolanda and several nieces and nephews.  Maria was predeceased by her husband Joseph in 1977 and stepson Joseph in 2002, along with may other  friends and family. Maria will be laid to rest on Wednesday November 21,2018 in a private family ceremony as per her wishes.  Mama and Nana will live on in our hearts forever and always   

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley Street at Algoma.
