I can't actually recall when I first met Scott. I'm sure it was around 1975. We were both involved with PC party politics in Ontario. Both at the riding level and the campus club level. we served together on the Executive of the Hamilton and District YPC Association and he later became President of the Ontario PC Campus Association. Scott always has a good moral compass and held strong opinions. Yet he always conveyed them with a laugh and a smile. Scott was a unique individual because he really was liked by most people in politics and that is a rare thing. I don't think it is overstating it to say, he truly was a happy warrior, in the same mould as Hubert Humphrey and Ronald Reagan.
