Obituary for Ms. Lorraine Mary Lydia Seppala

Ms. Lorraine Mary Lydia Seppala
Lorraine Mary Lydia Seppala passed away peacefully in St. Joseph's Hospital, the very place she was born 79 years ago. She died on Sunday, July 29, 2018, a month short of her 80th birthday. Sincere gratitude is extended for the care Lorraine received at both Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre and St. Joseph's Hospital.

Although born in Port Arthur, Lorraine grew up and spent her formative years in Rossport, living in the Rossport Inn and later at an adjoining cabin. There she and her good friend Judi became guardians of Rossport history, which they shared in a book, Facts & Fishtales. Lorraine was an officer or trustee of three Rossport organizations: The School Board, The Rossport Recreation Hall and the Rossport Union Church. Other friendships extended and flourished when Lorraine moved to Thunder Bay. She is lovingly remembered by Judi (Oregon) and her Northern Ontario friends Breda, Patricia, Nancey, Camilla, Ruth, Konstantin, Michael and Rosie (her beloved calico cat).

Cremation has taken place and there will be a graveside gathering to remember Lorraine on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 11:00 am in Riverside Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mary Macdonald Buck Bursary at Lakehead University.

Arrangements have been entrusted to EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley St. at Algoma.
