Obituary for Mrs. Fern A. Tozer (Dudley)

FERN A. TOZER
May 11, 1922 – July 24, 2018

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother. Mrs. Fern Tozer, age 96 years, passed away peacefully in Bethammi Nursing Home on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 with her family by her side.

Fern was born in Neebing Township, Ontario on May 11, 1922. She was raised by her grandparents and was educated locally. Fern met the love of her life, Roy Tozer. They were married on June 7, 1941 and started their family, raising 8 children together. She worked as a chambermaid at the Airlane Hotel for years, but dedicated her life to making a home for her family. In her younger years, Fern enjoyed hunting and fishing with Roy. Later in life, she was a Bingo fanatic. Mom was a happy-go-lucky and goodhearted, kind woman, who would give up her last dollar to anyone in need. She wasn't afraid to tell you her opinions, but had a great sense of humour and was a true prankster. Fern will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends.

Fern is survived by her children Pat Levesque, Glenn (Tracey), Dave (Brenda), Terry (Brenda), Diane Myslicki and Jack; daughter-in-law Laverne; grandchildren Dawn, Dwayne, Lorie, Byron, Rob, Nicole, April, Robin, T.J., Curtis, Megan, Sam and Tyler as well as numerous great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sister-in-law Joyce Zatti and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of over 71 years, Roy (2012); sons Elmer (2007) and Reg (2013); son-in-law Roger Levesque (2006) and numerous in-laws.

Funeral Services and a Celebration of Fern's Life will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 1:00PM in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James. If friends so desire, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

Gone from us that smiling face,
The cheerful pleasant ways,
The heart that won so many friends,
In bygone, happy days.

A life made beautiful by kindly deeds,
A helping hand for others' needs.
To a beautiful life,
Comes a happy end,
She died as she lived,
Everyone's friend.
