Johanna passed away on Wednesday June 20, 2018 at the age of 103. She was born in Heemstede, Holland on May 29, 1915 to Jilles and Maria Jansen.

Johanna came to Canada in 1954 and settled in Port Arthur. After her husband passed away in 1968, she was employed by Eaton’s for many years as a seamstress, until retiring. She was active in the CWL, St. Margaret’s Roman Catholic Church, and the Thunder Bay 55 Plus Centre.

Johanna was predeceased by her husband Frans, parents, brothers and sisters, and grandchildren Shawn and Glenn.She leaves to mourn her sons John (June Hurlen), Mike (Gwen), and Peter (Linda), grandchildren; Carrey, Maureen, Duane, Patrick, Sherry, Linden and Dana; twelve great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews in Holland.

A special thanks to Bunny Dornan, Rita DeBruin and Bob and Donna Leach who made life a little easier for Johanna for many years. Funeral Mass will be held at St Margaret’s Roman Catholic Church, June 26, at 11.00 am. celebrated by Fr. Ciaran Donnelly. Interment to follow in St. Andrew's R. C. Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL.

If friends so desire donations may be made to either the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation, or Parkinson Foundation.
