Mrs. Adelina Da Silva age 78 years passed away in Hogarth Riverview Manor on Wednesday morning June 20, 2018.

Adelina was born in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal on March 6, 1940. In 1965 Adelina married Ilidio Da Silva and then moved to Canada in 1972 with their young family. Adelina was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a strong supporter of St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church and a member of the CWL. She enjoyed helping others, cooking, talking with her family and friends and seeing her grandchildren, who were the light in her eyes.

She is survived by her children Tony (Michelle), Vincent, Joe (Margaret) and her beloved granddaughters Aly, Ella, Moira and Marya; brother and sisters; Maria (Louis) Raposo of Kitchener, Ernesto (Maria) Novo Thunder Bay, Antonia (Antonio) Arruda of Kitchener, Belmira (Jose) Pacheco of Portugal, Balbina Simoes of Massachusetts.

Adelina was predeceased by her husband Ilidio, sisters Paulina and Fernanda, brother Manuel and her parents Maria and Manuel Novo.

Funeral services for the late Mrs. Adelina Da Silva will be held on Monday, June 25, 2018 leaving the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley St. at Algoma at 9:45 AM to St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church for the Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM celebrated by Fr. Luigi Filippini. Interment to follow at St. Andrew's Roman Catholic Cemetery. Visitation for friends and family will be held on Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM in the Everest Chapel with Vigil Prayers offered at 7:00 PM.

Should friends so desire, donations to St. Joseph’s Care Group (Hogarth Riverview Manor) would be greatly appreciated.
