It is with great sadness that we announce that Mrs. Beverly Joan Carter, age 82 years, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 5, 2018 in Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

Beverly was born in Port Arthur on January 30, 1936. She attended Pine Street School and Port Arthur Collegiate Institute. She met her soulmate, James Carter, and they were married in 1954. They owned and operated the Consolidated Press until her retirement in 1993. They spent their summers living at their cottage at One Island Lake, where Bev loved to host family get-togethers.

Bev had a natural zest for life and she truly lived and loved life to the fullest. She loved playing Bridge with her Bridge Group, and playing cards and Yahtzee with her grandchildren. Bev was a social butterfly. She was a vibrant soul who always put others first. Her kind and compassionate personality was admired by all who knew her. Bev enjoyed attending her women's prayer group, volunteering at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre and at Shelter House. Most of all, her greatest passion in life was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Beverly will be sadly missed by her son Douglas (Gail) Carter; grandchildren Kari (Robert) Armstead, Kevin Dodd, Mathew Dodd and Julia Daigle (Tyler Turner); great-grandchildren Nolan Armstead (Katja), Kaylin Armstead (Dylan), Ethan Dodd, Brody Dodd, Ava Dodd, Jaydence Carter, Taylor Dodd and Brooklyn Dodd, Bria Daigle and Nash Turner. She will also be missed by Charlotte Dodd, son-in-law Neil Daigle as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was predeceased by her husband James Carter; daughter Cheryl Daigle; her parents John and Pearl Johnson and her brother, Jack Johnson.

The family would like to thank the staff of TBRHSC-1A and Dr. Storkson for the care and compassion provided to Bev.

Funeral Services for the late Mrs. Beverly Carter will be held on Friday, May 11, 2018 at 9:30am in St.Thomas Anglican Church, with Rev. Jonathan Blanchard officiating. Interment will take place in Sunset Memorial Gardens at a later date. If friends so desire, donations made in memory of Beverly to Shelter House or the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
