Obituary for Mrs. Marlene Dorothy Krause (Kunnas)

Mrs. Marlene Dorothy Krause (Kunnas)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Marlene Dorothy Krause on Sunday, April 1, 2018 at home.

Marlene was born in Port Arthur, Ontario. As a teenager, horses were her passion, spending many years raising Morgan Horses. She married Peter, and together they had two children. As a young mother, Joanne and Jon were her top priority. Their family enjoyed many camping trips to Kakabeka Falls and Chippewa Park and special trips to Disney World.

As the years passed and after Peter's death, she moved to Government Road to build her dream home on the property she and Peter had previously purchased. She suffered from MS and had the home built to suit her needs. When her mother became ill, Marlene spent more and more time caring for her. Following her mother's passing she and her two dogs, Pippy and Abby moved in with her father to care for him.

Marlene's whole life was dedicated to serving others, she was the epitome of unselfishness. She was a strong willed and generous woman. Marlene was a very private person, a true friend and even with her personal struggles, she was always there if needed. Her family pets, especially the Schnauzers and most recently her cat Holly were so loved by her.

Survived by her daughter, Joanne; son, Jon; her rescue cat, Holly and several close friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, Peter (1987) and her parents Wayne and Toini Kunnas.

As per Marlene's wishes, there will be no service. She will be interred with her husband Peter in Riverside Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are in care of the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley St at Algoma. If friends so desire, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

A special person, a special face,
Someone we love and can't replace.
Never selfish, always kind,
These are the memories she left behind.

We will miss you Marlene, Rest in Peace.
