Obituary for Mr. Ernest Ingwald "Ernie" Johnson

Mr. Ernest Ingwald "Ernie" Johnson
Ernest (Ernie) Johnson
August 21, 1931-January 24, 2018

It is with great sadness that we wish to announce the passing of Ernie Johnson. He passed away peacefully after a brief illness at the TBRHSC.

Ernie was born and raised in Murillo and spent all his life in Thunder Bay. He was a man of many talents, and was always happy to share his expertise with others. He especially loved children and they appreciated his joyful nature. Ernie was a member of the I.U.O.E. Local 793 for over 50 years. As a crane operator and then superintendent he worked at various construction sites in and around Thunder Bay.

Ernie was predeceased by his mother Fanny and his brother Elmer. He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret (Cameron), children Karen Maki (John), Karen Willenbucher of Thunder Bay, Arnie Willenbucher (Myrna) of Port Stanley, Ontario and Pauline Willenbucher of London, Ontario. Also survived by six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Many thanks to the wonderful and caring staff of the Oncology Unit.

No services will be held at this time, but a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 332 North May Street, Thunder Bay.
