Obituary for Ms. Carolyn Jean "Jeannie" Allison (Mills)

Ms. Carolyn Jean "Jeannie" Allison (Mills)
ALLISON

Ms. Carolyn Jean “Jeannie” Allison (nee Mills) age 68 years, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully at home on Saturday, January 6th, 2018 in Thunder Bay. Born and raised in Miramichi, New Brunswick, Jeannie moved to Thunder Bay in 2013 to be close to her son and granddaughters. Jeannie lived a life full of family and wonderful experiences. She will be remembered as the life of the party and always had a story to tell about her many journeys and adventures.

Jeannie was a beautiful person who had only kind words for anyone she met and will be remembered as a loving sister, mother and grandmother. She was an independent woman who enjoyed taking walks, playing cards, listening to music, dancing with Mallory and going for car rides with Shealagh. She rarely missed an opportunity to watch her granddaughters play hockey and stood by the glass to cheer on Carly. Family was very important to Jeannie and she spoke with her sister and brother on the phone every day. Jeannie enjoyed traveling with her sister Sally to Prince Edward Island and New Hampshire on vacation and to visit family. She visited often with Frank and Helen MacDiarmid who were an important part of her life in Thunder Bay.

Jeannie is survived by her only son, Bert Hennessey, of Thunder Bay and was Grandma to three granddaughters: Shealagh, Carly and Mallory Hennessey. She is also survived by her sister Sally Josephson of Winchester; Massachusetts, her brother Douglas (Mary) Mills of Miramichi, New Brunswick and by her sisters-in-law Barb Mills of Lower Derby, New Brunswick and Karen Mills of Cumberland, Maine. Jeannie was predeceased by her parents Jim and Marion Mills and brothers David and Jimmy Mills. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews whom she spoke of often.

Following Jeannie’s request, a gathering of family and friends will be held in Miramichi, New Brunswick at a future date in July. Cremation has taken place with interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice. WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street, Thunder Bay, Ontario in care of arrangements.
