Mrs. Maria Grazia Nardi, age 82 years, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 in Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

Grazia was born in Brognaturo, Catanzaro, Italy where she spent her early life working. She immigrated to Canada in September, 1961. Shortly after her arrival, she married Angelo and they started their life together. She worked hard her whole life, retiring after more than 20 years of service at Eaton's. She was known for her friendly demeanor and enormous generosity. Her door was always open, where family and friends were always welcome. Grazia loved cooking and baking and sharing it with everyone, if you came for a visit you left with something homemade. She had a strong faith and was a member of St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church, St Anthony’s CWL and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Italian Society of Port Arthur.

Survived by her siblings Raffaela (Riccardo) Longo and Cosmo (Rosa) Valente; sister in-law Teresa Valente; nieces and nephews Sal (Natalie) Valente, Dino Valente, Cosmo Valente, Mario (Donna) Longo, Rosemary (Vince) DiSimone and Sonia (Rob) Bertoli. Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survived in Canada and Italy.

Predeceased by her husband, Angelo; son Pasquale and daughter in infancy; parents Salvatore and Maria Valente and brother Damiano Valente.

Funeral Services for the late Mrs. Maria Grazia Nardi will be held on Friday, November 24, 2017 leaving the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley Street at Algoma at 1:20pm for the Funeral
Mass at 2:00pm in St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church celebrated by Fr. Luigi Filippini. Entombment will follow in St. Andrew's Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday evening after 5:00pm, with Vigil Prayers being offered in the Everest Chapel at 7:30PM, led by Fr. Francisco Blazek.

If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Arthritis Society or the Northern Cancer Fund.
