Obituary for Hildegard Berta Reinke

Hildegard Reinke

1926-2017

Mrs. Hildegard Berta Reinke, age 91 years, a resident of Thunder Bay, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 6, 2017 in Thunder Bay Regional Hospital, with her best and long time friend Rita Smykalski by her side.

Hildegard was born in Landsberg, Germany and she worked as an accountant in her younger years, before immigrating to Canada.

Rita will miss calling Hildegard daily and the weekly lunches and shopping trips. Also left to grieve her passing is Rita’s husband Larry and their children Jeffrey and Lindsay. Rita and Larry supported Hildegard through the years. She will also be missed by her long time friends Bill and Mary. Hildegard is survived by her son Frank Wasala who resides in Burnaby, B.C. and her daughter Kristina Wasala who resides in Germany.

She was predeceased by her loving husband Johann, who passed away in 1982 and her son Peter, who passed away in 1992.

A special thank you to Bonnie from V.O.N. for her Tuesday support.

A special thanks goes to her friend Wendy.

As per Hildegard's request, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. A private interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery at a later date, when she will be laid to rest beside her loving husband John. If friends so desire donations may be made to a charity of their choice.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 332 North May Street, Thunder Bay.

Hildegard is happy to be dancing with her husband John in heaven.
