Obituary for Muriel Leona Faloona (LeRossignol)

Mrs. Muriel Faloona, age 83 years, passed away peacefully on Thursday August 31, 2017 in St. Joseph's hospice.

Muriel was born on May 2, 1934 in Port Arthur. Muriel worked at the Lakehead Psychiatric Hospital as kitchen staff. She was full of life and love for her family and friends. She would get you with a joke when you least expected it. She battled hard when she was being treated for breast cancer and always said “there is always someone more worse off than you”. She was an inspiration and hero to many of her family members. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Muriel is survived by her siblings Glen LeRossignol (Clara), Joyce Lavoie (Ray), Doreen Fisher (Paul) children; Tom Faloona(Judy), Dan Faloona (Andrea), Deb Simpson (Brad); grandchildren Sean and Mark Faloona, Dane Simpson (Hannah), Breanna Simpson (Brent), Kyle Simpson; and great granddaughter Freya Simpson.

She was predeceased by her husband Bill, daughter Dora, father Armand, mother Ruby, and brother Norman LeRossignol.

The family would like to thank the staff and doctors at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre and St. Joseph's Hospice for their compassionate care.

A celebration of Muriel's life will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 in the Solarium of the Slovak Legion, 801 Atlantic Avenue, Thunder Bay, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.

Should friends so desire, in lieu of flowers donations to the Northern Cancer Fund or the St. Joseph's Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL. 299 Waverley Street at Algoma, entrusted with the arrangements.
