Condolences

Condolence From: Holly Allen
Condolence: Gord has always kept in touch over the years and was thoughtful to stop by my camp this summer to say sorry for the things we had gone through together a long time ago. He showed me his kitten Peyeow and assured me Jeremy would be taking care of this little fur baby if something should happen to him ( He was optimistic he would see November)..I believe the pic posted of him is of my girl kitty Bubbles. He did have a love for cats.(Mishca and Miriah to name a couple) Many memories of corn roasts, Damon and Jeremy as young boys at Windy, His mom and dad were always amazing, so he is now reunited with them. He will be missed, buzzing around on his bike in the summer. That long blonde ponytail was his signature look. He did mention he cut if off and put it in the urn so he could take it with him. So like Gord. I pray he is resting in peace.. Fly free bird..

Condolence: I'm sorry I won't be at the Weyland Hotel tonite. If someone wants to read my stories of Gordie's childhood at his wake that would be appreciated. If not that's OK. Around 1962, whenever Gordie came to visit us at the farm he would bring his own jug of city water as he didn't like our well water. What Gordie did like was mashed potatoes and lots of them. He would heap his plate with only potatoes smothered in Ketchup and that was all he would have for supper!! Once at a corn roast of ours my dad Glen and Keith wanted to play "hide the egg". Gordie asked me what that was all about then volunteered to have the joke (yolk) played on him. After the egg was "found" he chased Keith out around the garage in the dark, pretending to be mad at him!! One day we were all playing on a beached tugboat around Cloud Bay and decided that we would someday sail around the world visiting all sorts of exotic places. Gordie was the oldest so he would be the Captain. I was next oldest so I would be his first mate. Brook would be the cook (Brook the cook) and Jimmy would be the cabin-boy and have to swab the deck. So please have a pickled egg or plate of French Fries or even better mashed potatoes smothered in Ketchup and remember the good times with my Cousin Captain Gordie. :-)
