Obituary for Mrs. Marg Antonia Dean (Goegan)

Mrs. Marg Antonia Dean (Goegan)
Marg Dean (nee Goegan)
Nov. 26, 1939-May 22, 2017

The family of Marg Dean are so very saddened to announce her peaceful passing in St. Joe's Hospice after a lengthy illness.

Marg grew up in Fort William and was proud of her "East End" heritage where she enjoyed many great memories and friendships. Employed as an RPN at McKellar Hospital, she was known as an extremely competent and hardworking nurse. She loved the pace of the ER and it was there that she found her calling.
Her strong personality and "say it like it is" attitude endeared her to all and she became known as "Marg in Charge". Someone you could count on and always trust. She was happiest when family was around and enjoyed many special times with all of her adored grandchildren.

Marg was predeceased by her beloved husband Darrell of 49 years in 2009, her parents Bruno and Anna Goegan, brothers Fiori, Blackie and Peter.

Survived by her four children, Peter (Sherry), Angie (John Poleschuk), Warren, Lori (Stu Robinson), cherished grandchildren Cobey (Katie), Jordan, and Casey Dean, Billy and Tielle Poleschuk, Troy and Jake Robinson. Great grandchildren Rylee and Denver, sister Lena Graham, brothers Johnny (Marion), Tony Goegan, special niece Valerie Joyce and numerous nieces and nephews.

As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Marg can be made to Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

Family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at Thunder Bay Regional and St. Joseph's Hospice, Dr. Miller, Palliative care and Dr. Doiron for their excellent care. Also Darragh for all of her home support and company.

"Mom, although you are no longer "In Charge", your impact on all of us will never be forgotten.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 332 North May Street, Thunder Bay.
