Obituary for Mrs. Catherine Eleanor "Cathie" Budd (Kilbride)

CATHERINE BUDD

Mrs. Catherine Eleanor Budd, age 74 years, passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2017 in St. Joseph's Hospice with family by her side.

Cathie was born on December 28, 1942 in Summerside, Prince Edward Island. At a young age she moved to Newmarket, Ontario where she went to school and met her husband,Terry. They were wed on Dec. 28, 1962. In 1976, they moved to Kakabeka Falls to build a new home and enjoy rural life. Soon after, she started working at the Kakabeka Falls Credit Union where she enjoyed interacting with many members of the local community and made many life-long friends.

She took pride in her vegetable garden and cooking and baking with fruits and berries found around their home. Cathie also enjoyed visiting the casino, camping, fishing, traveling and trips to Florida with Terry, Anna and Moe. She was an avid knitter,sewer and crocheter, making beautiful items to share
with family. Cathie took pride and joy in watching her grandchildren, Crystal and Jordan perform in their musical concerts.

Cathie had a big impact on those who were close to her, was the sweetest mother any one could ask for and she will be dearly missed.

Cathie is survived by her loving husband, Terry; children Danny (Jody) and Amy; grandchildren Crystal and Jordan and siblings Anna (Moe) and Jim (Hannah). Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. Also, long time friends Joe and Gayle.

Predeceased by her parents, Ferdinand Kilbride and Lucile Kilbride (McKenna) and 9 brothers and sisters, Justin, Roma, Jenny, Joseph, Wendell, Albion, Ralph, Eugene and John.

A celebration of Cathie's life will be held on Sunday, June 4, 2017 from 1:00pm until 3:00pm in the O'Connor Community Centre. Interment will take place in O'Connor Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James. If friends so desire, donations may be made to St. Joseph's Hospice, Northern Cancer Fund or Salvation Army.
