Mrs. Lucille Teresa Kennedy, age 84 years, passed away peacefully in Pioneer Ridge on Friday, August 3, 2012 with her daughter, Marilyn, by her side.

Lucille was born in Fort Frances on August 22, 1927 and spent her childhood there. She met her first husband, Donald Patterson and they moved to Atikokan to raise their family. Upon Donald's passing, Lucille worked hard providing for her children, spending time as a Bar Maid and later owned her own restaurant. She married Jim Kennedy and together, they enjoyed being outdoors, especially camping and travelling. Lucille was a very loving person who was always willing to help anybody in need. She loved spending Sundays with her family enjoying dinners and card games.

Lucille is survived by her daughters Marilyn Olson, Bonnie (Leo) Penney and Connie (Fred) McRitchie, Denise Patterson; grandchildren Pam Olson, Kyle (Rich) Lazzari, Donald Patterson, Trevis (Melissa) Penney, Kim Penney, Troy McRitchie and Shawna McRitchie and great grandchildren Victoria, Lucas, Jayden, Aurora and Kaydon. She is also survived by sisters, Rose (Sandy), Stella, Yvonne (Romeo) and Bertha (Jay) as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Donald Patterson; second husband Jim Kennedy; her parents, Vassar and Yvonne Carpenter; brothers “Beans” and Peto; sisters Beatrice and Doreen.

Funeral services for the late Lucille Kennedy will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at 2:00PM in Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church celebrated by Father Richard Kowalchuk. Should friends so desire, donations made in memory of Lucille to Canadian Lung Association would be greatly appreciated.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 332 North May Street at Cameron.
